An Ohio restaurant has made a dying woman's bittersweet last wish come true, by shipping a milkshake to her deathbed across the US.
Emily Pomeranz, who was in a hospice near Washington DC with pancreatic cancer, had a hankering to taste a mocha shake from her hometown diner.
She told her friend, Sam Klein, and he contacted Tommy's in Cleveland Heights to arrange the long-distance order.
The drink reached her bedside four days before she passed away last Friday.
Mr Klein, who also grew up in the Cleveland area before moving to Washington DC, had asked his old friend during a visit to her hospice if she needed anything.
"She said with a smile, 'I wish I could have one more Tommy's mocha milkshake,'" Mr Klein said.
He said he contacted the general information email address for the restaurant.
"A few days later I got a call from Tommy Fello, the owner of Tommy's. 'Yes. We will figure out a way to do this,' is what he said," Mr Klein said in a Facebook post.
Mr Fello told Cleveland's Fox 8 News that he had never dealt with an order like this one in the restaurant's 47-year history.
"I wasn't even sure if we'd be able to do it," he said, adding that those involved had dubbed it the milkshake mission.
Mr Fello put the beverage on dry ice and paid $123 (£93) for overnight shipping 370 miles (600km) across the country.
Mr Klein said Ms Pomeranz, 50, was overjoyed to taste her favourite shake.
"I know Emily would love the fact that she's making people feel good even though she's not here with us anymore," Mr Klein said.

WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Some people remember the 1990’s as a tremendous period of growth for grunge music and Jim Carrey films. While this is true, most people will probably tell you the 90’s were responsible for this big, beautiful, technology called the World Wide Web (aka the internet, the web, the vast digital ocean of information at our finger tips). And with any new technology or media, companies quickly realized they had a new opportunity to market their products and services to consumers via the millions of websites they visit every day.
With the emergence of search engines in the mid-1990’s, the internet ballooned into a massive e-commerce and information machine. Website owners were creating valuable content and providing tremendous benefits to their visitors, and these website owners wanted to be compensated for their hard work. Early forms of online advertising like CPM or fixed placement started seeing competition from emerging, more accountable forms of online advertising, like affiliate marketing. So, what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing at its very core is about relationships,
a relationship between three parties:

In the world of affiliate marketing, an advertiser can be a company selling a product like electronics, airline tickets, clothing or car parts, or an advertiser could also be an insurance company selling policies. The most important thing to remember is that you are an advertiser if you are ready to pay other people to help you sell and promote your business.

A publisher is an individual or company that promotes an advertiser’s product or service in exchange for earning a commission. Advertisers contractually agree to work with a publisher, then provide the publisher with creative – in the form of links, banner or text ads or even unique phone numbers – that the publisher incorporates into their website.

The final component that completes the affiliate relationship triangle is the consumer. The consumer is the one who actually sees the ad and then makes an action (either by clicking a link or by submitting their information via a form) that takes them from the publisher’s website to the advertiser’s to complete the action, which we call a conversion.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Let's face it: technology, especially the internet, can be pretty daunting to try to grasp, and with terms like malware, cursor and spam, it also seems pretty dangerous. So kudos to the guys who decided e-commerce and affiliate marketing should rely on an innocuous technology called a "cookie."

cookie
A cookie is a technology that works with web browsers to store information like user preferences, login or registration information, and shopping cart contents. Have you ever opted-in to have a website "remember" your password and username for one of your online accounts? That's a cookie. Ever notice while searching the web for "travel deals" and you suddenly start seeing travel display banners on other websites? Those ads are appearing for you because you've been cookied (it's okay, you won't get hurt).
In affiliate marketing, one task that cookies manage is to remember the link or ad the visitor to a website clicks on. Cookies can also store the date and time of the click, they can even be used to remember what kind of websites or content you like most. There are many different types of web cookies and uses, but the kind of cookie affiliate marketing relies on is called a first-party cookie.
When a user visits a publisher's website and clicks an advertiser's creative ad, the visitor's browser receives the CJ tracking cookie that identifies the advertiser, the publisher, the specific creative and commission amount. This data is stored within the link information in what are called "parameters" and can include even more anonymous data used for attribution.
The sample link below includes some of the identifiers Commission Junction uses to enable proper tracking and auditing of the affiliate marketing process:
<a href="http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-5377085-10590299?sid=012-123" target="_blank"> webservices.cj.com</a><img border="0" height="1" src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-5377085-10590299" width="1" height="1" border="0" />
  • PID: 5377085
PID (publisher website ID) is used to identify the publisher's website. A CJ publisher may have multiple PIDs under one single CJ account (e.g. if you maintain multiple websites, you will have multiple PIDs).
  • AID: 10590299
The AID (ad ID) is a number which identifies a specific link and enables CJ to track creative performance as well as credit the publisher when they earn a commissionable transaction. Because each link has a unique AID, it also allows CJ to identify the appropriate advertiser.
  • SID: 012-123
SID (shopper ID) enables publisher to track where their referred actions originated so they can target and/or reward their unique shoppers. When the visitor makes a purchase or completes a lead form, that transaction is tracked and recorded by Commission Junction.
The CJ Network is capable of tracking and processing an enormous volume of actions and transactions. In 2011 alone, Commission Junction tracked a total of over 3 billion website visits, 175 million transactions and over $6 billion in online sales.

MQM TO SHAKE HANDS WITH PSP.

Sagheer Ahmed invites MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar to join PSP

Sagheer Ahmed invites MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar to join PSP
DUBAI: Senior Vice Chairman of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Dr Sagheer Ahmed has invited once again Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan Dr Farooq Sattar to join the PSP.

He was addressing the party workers of PSP in Dubai, arranged by the central executive committee of the PSP-UAE and its chief organiser Muhammad Atif Khan.

While talking with Geo News, Dr Sagheer Ahmed said that Dr Farooq Sattar was a misfit in MQM-Pakistan and his actual position was in PSP. He expressed a hope that Dr Farooq Sattar would get supreme post in the party but the central executive council of the PSP would discuss his position.

Dr Sagheer Ahmed taunted Sattar, “Farooq bhai should leave rented house [of MQM-Pakistan] and should join hands of the PSP to serve Pakistan.”

He also doubted that MQM-Pakistan had not been separated from Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and claimed that both the parties are still under Altaf Hussain.

Dr Sagheer also noted that the PSP would not merge in any party but any prominent member of MQM-Pakistan can join his party.

While Chief Organizer of the PSP Middle East Shamshad Ali Siddiqui lauded the efforts of the party workers PSP UAE for arranging the gathering.
He stressed the workers to organise and invite all Pakistanis living in UAE to join the party. He said that the party had rejected all the bias ideologies and wants to spread the message of love to everyone.

Since the launching of the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) UAE chapter in June 2016, Dr Sagheer Ahmed was the most senior leader of the PSP who addressed the party workers in the gathering.

How to Be Successful

Many people want to achieve success in life, but it's easier said than done. While they like to be successful, others accept to live their lives anyhow. The simple fact that you're reading this article indicates that you want to be different from others, and be successful in life. However, there are so many distractions that it can be challenging to discipline oneself to accomplish a monumental goal. By keeping the following advice in mind, however, you can dramatically increase your chances of becoming successful in whatever you choose to pursue.

Method One of Three:
Planning for Success

  1. 1
Start with a positive and fresh mind. Imagine becoming successful. Einstein said that "Imagination is more important than knowledge". The more vividly and accurately you imagine your success, the easier it will be for the rest of yourself to follow through. The same way engineers first imagine a bridge and then build it, you can be the engineer of your success, too.
    • Dedicate a few minutes every day to imagining your success. Imagine yourself in a movie in which you are successful. What are you doing in the movie? What is your success like? Savor the feeling of your success, and use it as motivation to stoke your fire.
    • Cultivate a healthy motivation when imagining your success. Successful people all believe in themselves and their missions. At the same time, you do not want to alienate other people with extreme narcissism. Understand that other people want to be just as successful as you do; your goal should not be to trample over them to get what you want.
  2. 2
Find the purpose or goal of your life. Identify the things you love to do, the things that give you satisfaction. Once you identify what you love to do, use this information to find the purpose of your life or the objective of your life.
    • Finding what you love to do will give you motivation along the way. Imagine being forced to do a triathlon when your true passion is chess. Pretty difficult, huh? Now imagine the opportunity to participate in a chess tournament. It's much, much easier to persistently chip away at your goal if your goal is something you enjoy doing.(Write what your motivations and goals for yourself
    • How do you figure out a purpose or goal in life? It's different for everyone, and for some it's difficult, but there are several ways you can try to figure it out:
      • Talk with a career coach or visit a good psychologist.
      • Try out several different careers, remembering that even a less-than-fulfilling job can help you learn.
      • Try making a career out of something you love. Whether it's brewing beer or advising on art, you're more likely to be successful doing something you know you love.
  3. 3
Define the meaning of success as you see it. You cannot have success if you do not know what it means for you. Everyone views success differently and using someone else standard for success is like eating another person's lunch and expecting to love it. Set clear goals and be realistic.
    • How will you know when you have achieved your goals? Your standards should be quantifiable, or else you could spend your entire life chasing after a vague goal.
      • For example, let's say you want to be good at your job. You get a promotion, you get a raise, but you still haven't reached your goal because you could always do better, right? You could always get promoted even further, or make even more money. Whatever you have will never be enough.
      • Instead, create benchmarks: "My goal is to increase my productivity by 30% and only be late for work five times per year, at the most." These are quantifiable goals that when achieved, give you a sense of satisfaction and completion, making you feel successful and confident.
  4. 4
Selectively lower your confidence.[1] You read it right: lower your confidence. It's a truism in business that you need to have high self-confidence to get things done. But some people think, and for good reason, that lower self-confidence makes people more successful, for these reasons:
    • Lower self-confidence makes you pay attention to critical feedback and helps you be more self-critical. If you're convinced you're God's gift to engineering, you probably won't be receptive to feedback. Nor will you be able to criticize yourself effectively. Successful people do exactly that.
    • Lower self-confidence makes you work harder and prepare more. If you're not convinced you're going to nail your presentation next Monday, you're likely to spend more time practicing and going over your numbers. This is a great habit.
    • Lower self-confidence makes you less narcissistic. Less narcissistic people are respected more by co-workers, and happy co-workers make a more successful team. It's no secret that respect will make you successful.
  5. 5
Set a timeline for when you want to achieve your objective. If you don't know when you will achieve your objective by, then it's hard to know whether you have failed. Give yourself a timeline that is difficult but doable. Winning a Tour de France from scratch in two years is not reasonable, but booking a comedy gig in front of at least 20 paying customers probably is.

STRONG CANDIDATES OF NEXT PM OF PAKISTAN.

Who could be Pakistan’s next PM?

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was ousted on Friday from office by the Supreme Court, but as the head of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz [PML-N] party he will be able to nominate his successor.
Nawaz’s chosen candidate will be put to a vote in the National Assembly – a rubber stamp affair as the PML-N holds a strong majority in the house. His daughter Maryam Nawaz is commonly touted as his political heir, but she does not currently hold an elected office so cannot be a candidate this time around.
Most likely candidates for the country’s next prime minister are as follows:
Speculation within media suggests that the party is planning to bring in an interim prime minister for a few weeks before electing Nawaz’s younger brother Shehbaz Sharif to the post.
The young Nawaz would have to step down from his current role as Chief Minister of Punjab and be elected to the National Assembly before he is eligible to become prime minister. That will require a party loyalist to resign from his seat in the national parliament, sparking a hasty vote that Shehbaz would contest on the PML-N ticket.
Shehbaz is considered more intelligent but less charismatic than his older brother. He has controlled Punjab for much of the last decade, presiding over a series of big ticket infrastructure projects, including Pakistan’s first metro bus service.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is one of the most trusted allies of the outgoing prime minister and is considered mostly likely to succeed him. The former banker has held a series of key positions within the PML-N since 1991. He was elected to the National Assembly from his home district of Sialkot – an important manufacturing centre in Punjab province – since 1993. He is viewed as a strong critic of the powerful military and commentators say that his hardline stance against the army has created problems for Nawaz.
The speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is another strong candidate for next prime minister who is said to have the ear of the ruling Nawaz family. Sadiq gained Nawaz’s trust after he defeated the PML-N leader’s main rival, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, in a hotly contested race for a Lahore seat in the 2013 general election. Sadiq lost the seat two years later following allegations of vote rigging, only to be re-elected in a by-election, narrowly beating another close aide of Khan. He was restored as the speaker after his re-election.
Sadiq began his political career as a supporter of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf party, but quit to contest the 2002 elections on a PML-N ticket.
